Experts Debate: Is Juice Healthy?
It’s common knowledge that fruit, with all of its health-promoting vitamins, minerals and phytochemicals, is a good addition to a well-balanced diet. But there is some debate regarding whether or not the sweeter form of produce should be distilled down and consumed as a drink.
After all, while health-conscious folks often frequent juice bars for green sips, wake up with OJ or turn to cherry juice or beet juice to recover, some research — including a recently published study out of Emory University — links sugary drinks such as 100% fruit juice to an earlier death.
